Spring 2024 | Ihwa Mural Village
This time, I'm heading to Ihwa-dong Mural Village and Ihwa-dong Sky Garden Road in Daehangno, Seoul ^^
Honestly, I don't think there's much to explain here~
It is better to go there and enjoy walking around the art pieces...
The entire district is a masterpiece I think...
I heard that Ihwa-dong used to be a very poor neighbourhood ~
So, to develop the neighbourhood, they started painting various artworks on the walls~
After that, Ihwa-dong became very famous,
and here are small cafes, restaurants, and shops~
But as more people came, it got very noisy~
So, some residents coloured off some of the artworks~
The famous angel wings were reportedly removed by the artist themselves~
So the angel wings currently there are newly painted~
When touring Ihwa-dong Mural Village, you can't miss
Ihwa-dong Sky Garden Road!
You can also get there from Dongdaemun via Sky Garden Road,
but I always go from Ihwa-dong.
There are a lot of stairs here, but when you go up, you get a really beautiful background!
And these days, there are various cafes and bars there, so you can go up and have a coffee~
I must have been too tired going up Sky Garden Road ㅋ
I only took one photo and didn't even take a picture of Seoul ㅋ
I'll have to go up again next time and take more pictures~
I don't see any cafe photos... oh no ㅋ
And finally,
This might be the first artwork you'll see in Ihwa-dong~
I think this artwork is probably the oldest one in Ihwa-dong~
